The traffic police pulled over a young driver who was travelling at a significantly excessive speed. The 20-year-old will be charged and his vehicle has been impounded.
On Friday afternoon (3 October 2025), shortly before 2 p.m., a semi-stationary speed measurement device on Zugerstrasse in Walchwil recorded a passenger car travelling towards Zug at a net speed of 121 km/h while overtaking. The speed limit on this section of road is 60 km/h.
The 20-year-old driver was stopped shortly afterwards. His provisional driving licence was confiscated and handed over to the administrative authorities. The car was also impounded and the Zug public prosecutor's office has opened a criminal investigation. Zug Police
