In Walchwil, the start of carnival season was celebrated in traditional style at Restaurant Aesch on 11 November.

The secret is out: Gregor Bochsler and Pascal Aeschlimann were presented as the new Hudivater and his deputy at Aesch on Tuesday evening. They will be actively supported by the carnival society and will lead the fifth season under the motto ‘HudivatAir’. The election – and with it a large parade – only takes place every three years.

The Hudivater is the jester head of the Walchwil carnival. Together with his deputy Hudivater, he rules with a sceptre during his three-year term of office and ensures the colourful hustle and bustle in the village with plenty of humour, creativity and passion. He is responsible for planning the carnival activities, in particular the traditional parade. He is actively supported in this by the carnival society, which assists him in organising the many carnival highlights. kh.
