“Shame on you! Our playground isn’t a rubbish tip!”

On Saturday (12 September 2026, at 9.30 am), helpers of all ages joined forces with the Waldeulen playgroup in Usseregg to clear the playground of rubbish.

And what we found there simply left us speechless. Cigarette ends, dog poo, food scraps, paper, tins, broken toys and much more had to be collected and disposed of.

A playground is there for children – not as a rubbish bin, a dog toilet or a place where you simply leave broken items lying around.

Anyone who spends time here has a right to expect the place to stay clean. And if you bring something with you, you can certainly take it back with you. A bin isn’t a complicated piece of machinery – and dog poo belongs in the Robidog.

Why do some people lack respect and consideration to such an extent?

Our children should be able to play in this playground without having to walk amongst cigarette ends, rubbish and dog poo. That really ought to go without saying – and not be a chore that others have to laboriously carry out for us at the weekend.

A huge thank you to all the helpers, young and old, who rolled up their sleeves and made sure the playground is clean again.

To everyone who uses the playground: please leave it as you’d like to find it yourselves. Cleanliness, good manners and consideration are not unreasonable demands. They are the very least we can expect. Marianne and Jörg Grossenbacher
