Night-time closure of the Seefeld bridge

The construction work for the new Seefeld bridge in Walchwil is progressing. The old bridge and the Lido pedestrian bridge will be dismantled during the night of 20/21 January 2025. This will require a night-time closure of Artherstrasse in the Seefeld area.

In order to rebuild the Seefeld bridge, the old bridge must be demolished beforehand. For space reasons, the dismantling work can only be carried out by closing the road at night. For this reason, the Seefeld section of Artherstrasse and Seefeldquai will be completely closed to motorised traffic from 10 pm on Monday, 20 January 2025 until 5 am on Tuesday, 21 January 2025. Access to the affected properties in Seefeld is not guaranteed during this time. A diversion via Seefeldquai will be signposted for pedestrians and cyclists.

Large-scale bypass
During the closure, Artherstrasse between Zug and Arth will be closed to traffic. Access is possible from Zug and Arth as far as the Seefeld section. The construction site can be bypassed on a large scale via Ägeri-Sattel or via the national road via Rotkreuz-Arth. A diversion is signposted. The affected bus stops ‘Engel’, ‘Lido’ and ‘St. Adrian’ on route 605 of the Zuger Verkehrsbetriebe will not be served during this time. The service will turn round at Walchwil station.

If the dismantling work cannot be carried out on this night due to bad weather or other problems, the work will be postponed by 24 hours to the night of 21 January to 22 January 2025.
