On Thursday (5 March 2026) members and guests of the Walchwil International Men's Club gathered for an enjoyable wine tasting dedicated to one of the world's most famous wine regions: Bordeaux.

The focus of the evening was the classic comparison between the left bank and the right bank. With a selection of 14 exceptional white, red and sweet wines, participants were able to discover the stylistic differences between the Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated wines of the left bank and the Merlot-dominated wines of the right bank.

The tasting was led by sommelier Josef Pargfrieder, formerly of Sternen and now owner of his own wine shop in Zug. With clear and informed explanations, he provided fascinating insights into the grape varieties, terroir and styles of the region.

Members and guests enjoyed a convivial and stimulating evening with interesting conversations and excellent wines. Stephen George
