On Saturday 15 June, the Schmetterling playgroup celebrated its 10th anniversary with a public family party on the Walchwil school grounds.
The party was organised by the entire team of leaders of the Schmetterling playgroup. Among the guests were many interested people from the Walchwil population, almost all the current playgroup children with their families, former playgroup children and playgroup leaders, sponsors and representatives of the municipality, Mr Manuel Studer and Ms Noemi Vasella.
The founders: Kristin Hürlimann and Daisy Wilde.
The management team had divided up the preparatory work and ensured a varied programme.Highlights were the performances by Albi the Magic Fuzzi from Liechtenstein and the Chasperli performances by Ursi Raemy and Regula Luthiger from Oberwil bei Zug. The children were able to let off steam on a bouncy castle, prove their skills at darts football or play with fun vehicles from the Arth toy library. The children's face painting was particularly popular, with the make-up artists working tirelessly throughout the day. By the evening, the rummage box was empty with 100 lovingly wrapped presents.
The Fyrabigmetzg food truck from Arth catered for everyone's physical well-being with schnitzel bread, bratwurst, chips and Wienerli. For dessert, there was Kenel's Buurehof ice cream and an extensive cake buffet. A big thank you goes to the many playgroup mums who baked so diligently. The guests were particularly impressed by the photo collages showing the playgroup's diverse activities from 2014 to the present day. It's hard to believe how quickly time flies and what the Schmetterling team has achieved in 10 years.
To mark the anniversary, the team bought new T-shirts in bright colours, on which the newly designed logo is shown to its best advantage. The numerous helpers were also hard to miss in their yellow T-shirts.

Among other things, the Schmetterling playgroup organises regular visits with the children to the Mütschi retirement home, regularly takes part in village events such as the candlelight walk or the carnival parade and provides a varied weekly programme for the registered playgroup children. The lunch programme, which is offered three days a week, is very popular. The lunch table in the forest, where lunch is cooked over the fire all year round, deserves a special mention. Kindergarten and school children also enjoy this somewhat special offer in the midst of nature.
The founders Kristin Hürlimann and Daisy Wilde as well as the other leaders Sereina Rust, Ann Nijs and Nadja Fischlin received a lot of positive feedback and words of thanks for their work and for the fantastic festival. A big thank you goes to all the sponsors and the many energetic helpers, without whom the festival would not have been possible.
