After their convincing victory against FC Perlen-Buchrain II, Walchwil suffered a heavy defeat against SK Root I on Tuesday at Lienisberg, losing 0-6 (0-4).
Despite a good start to the game by Walchwil, the match ended in a clear defeat. The first two goals conceded after the good start broke FC Walchwil's neck, mainly due to poor positioning by the defence. The good goalkeeping of Elia Meier – who had to be substituted due to injury in the final stages – prevented a heavier defeat. On Sunday, the important match against bottom-of-the-table SC Steinhausen follows. It is to be hoped that many Walchwil football fans will find their way to Lienisberg, despite the Chilbi festival.
