An intense afternoon of football in Walchwil ended in a 2–2 draw between FC Walchwil and FC Hünenberg II – a result that only partially reflects the course of the match.

The Walchwil side fought back against adverse circumstances with heart, passion and remarkable spirit. Time and again, however, they were thwarted by refereeing decisions that were difficult to comprehend. A clear penalty in favour of the hosts was not given, whilst at the other end a highly dubious penalty was awarded to the visitors.

Luck also seemed to be against Walchwil on the day: Remo Hürlimann rattled the crossbar with a superb free-kick.

Despite squad concerns and injury-enforced absences, FC Walchwil put in a convincing performance both in terms of fighting spirit and play. Sven Truttmann put his team ahead with a confidently converted penalty. With the match hanging in the balance, it was Robin Holzmann who secured the deserved reward for their tireless efforts with his goal to make it 2-2.

A match that provided not only goals but also plenty to talk about long after the final whistle.
