With great pride and warm affection, the community gave the Echo vo dä Bärenegg alphorn group a fitting welcome following their successful return from the Swiss Yodelling Festival in Basel. Having secured the top mark of 1, the alphorn players were greeted by the villagers with heartfelt applause and obvious joy.

Led by the Bärgtrychlern and with the club flags flying, the successful alphorn group made a ceremonial entrance onto the village square. The ringing of the cowbells, the festive atmosphere and the warm support of the villagers provided a fitting backdrop to the occasion. The music society added a musical touch with their fine performances, which enriched the reception.

The tribute was not only in recognition of the alphorn group’s outstanding achievement, but also to all those who, with great passion, diligence and enthusiasm, nurture and keep alive the cultural heritage. The event thus became a visible affirmation of the community’s living traditions and strong club life.

As a generous host, the local council treated the numerous visitors to grilled sausages and drinks. The complimentary drinks were thoroughly enjoyed – after all, it’s particularly relaxing to have a drink when the local council is acting as host. In a convivial atmosphere, everyone raised a glass, shared stories and discussed the successful day in Basel. And so the official reception flowed seamlessly into a cosy get-together, where the focus was on community and the joy of shared success.

Special praise was also due to Team Riviera, who organised the event on the village square with great dedication and care. An evening that demonstrated once again how vibrantly tradition, community and club spirit are lived out in the local community. kh.
