On Saturday (17 January 2026), the carnival season kicked off in the Haltlirain district with an event called ‘Ab uf d'Piste 37’. The event was organised by the Hudivätern and their crew.

A highlight of the event was the performance by the Guggemusig Cheschtänärigler and the band ‘Lieber Vier’, who provided the entertainment. The event marked the start of carnival in Walchwil and was excellently organised with delicious delicacies and barbecued food.

Particularly noteworthy is the extraordinary tolerance of the residents of the Haltlirain neighbourhood. Without their support, such an event would not be possible.

The festivities continue on Saturday, 24 January, with the shooting club Saturday and the enthronement at 8 p.m. in the community hall.
