Following their impressive performance at the Swiss National Music Festival, the Walchwil Music Society was treated to a warm and fitting welcome back home.

Although the weather gods were not kind to the traditional association, founded in 1895, and sent rain clouds over Walchwil, this did nothing to dampen the festive mood. Without further ado, the reception was moved to the Catholic church, where the musicians were welcomed by the village associations and the Arth Music Society with loud applause and palpable camaraderie.

In a festive atmosphere, the return of the dedicated performers was duly celebrated, and their achievements at the Swiss National Festival were honored.

Following the tributes, the most important part of the evening began: the assault on the grill and the beverage stand. Grill master Bruno worked nonstop, while the sausages donated by the municipality changed hands at an astonishing speed. The festive crowd also showed great solidarity when it came to the drinks—after all, no one wanted to let the generous offer go to waste. Because in Walchwil, it seems, culture and camaraderie are important, but enjoying free sausages and cold drinks takes top priority. kh.
