People from all over flocked to the opening of the school year on Monday morning: The parish church full of energy and zest for action was a must-see.

Parish leader Benjamin Meier and pastor Antje Gehrig-Hofius led the ceremony and encouraged children, parents and teachers for the challenges of the new school year. The new headmaster Fabian Ziegler especially welcomed the new kindergarten children, the first-graders and the newcomers to the upper school. He himself is also new to his job. Walchwil School has a new headteacher from its own ranks! Bertina Adame on keyboard and Iwan Weiss on saxophone provided the musical accompaniment to the ceremony. Starting the new school year together in the solemn village church is an inviting, beautiful tradition!
